If you click on the link below it should allow you to hear a sermon. When I asked it to open, it took a minute, then starting playing in itunes. See how it works for you and let me know.

Thoughts on the real stuff of life. Spirituality, sports, preaching, 80's music, children, literature, food, marriage, church, injuring yourself with power tools...

I can download it and play it, but you probably want to use a more common format, such as .mp3 or .wav (though wav has no compression so your files would be huge). I happen to use VLC as my media player which can play almost anything, but I tried opening it in Windows Media Player and it couldn't figure out what to do. And as far as iTunes goes, while a lot of people do have it, you probably don't want to require people to download and install a new program just to hear these. That unnecessarily raises barriers. (Also, iTunes is pretty intrusive and I actively avoid installing it on my machine.)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I can't bandy about terms like "VLC" and "compression" like my hero JStins, but this is what happened for me:
ReplyDelete*Using IE7, it opened fine (using QuickTime, I think) within the box.net site.
*No luck when I was browsing with Firefox (3.0.6); it prompted me to browse to find a program with which to open the file, and Windows Media Player was a bust.
*However you podcast your sermons, I'm just happy I don't have to carry them to my parents in Virginia on a flash drive anymore!
Just don't embarrass me!!! I was able to hear this sermon without any problems--you know how good I am with computers. Thanks,I enjoyed it.
